Daycare center in Klein-Auheim: Children learn responsibility through dog Samu!

Today, August 17, 2025, the Protestant daycare center in Klein-Auheim, Hanau, launched an exciting project. Claudia Fäscher, a committed community educator, and her loyal Labrador Samu are now part of everyday daycare. Under the motto “learning together with Samu”, the children are given the opportunity to learn important social skills such as empathy and consideration. The goal is to reduce fears and train the little explorers in how to interact with animals.

Fäscher and Samu successfully completed training in animal-assisted pedagogy in 2017, which was financed by the Klein-Auheim Evangelical Church Community. The cost of this training was around 1,000 euros. Up to five children can now work with Samu at the same time in a specially equipped sports room at the daycare center.

The children have the opportunity to actively involve the Labrador in the learning process by giving him treats and studying his body language. Interactive learning not only promotes motivation, but also children's concentration and social behavior. Fäscher explains that creating activities like hide-and-seek, where Samu has to find children, is a popular way to instill a sense of responsibility and boundaries.

Animal-assisted pedagogy not only promotes emotional intelligence, but also teaches how to deal with stress and fears. “People's responsibility towards animals and creation is important to us,” emphasizes Fäscher, because she sees the great benefit of animals in educational work. According to social scientist Katharina Ameli from the University of Giessen, dogs and horses are frequent companions in educational work and serve not only as playmates, but also as emotional supports.

Insights into animal-assisted pedagogy

This initiative shows how valuable encounters with animals are in various educational institutions. Animals can help stimulate conversations and reduce fears, which is particularly useful in daycare centers and therapeutic facilities. Fäscher hopes that other institutions will follow this example and also use the positive effects of animal-assisted pedagogy.

Another example of care and quality is the 2025 Chevy Silverado 1500, which is highly popular as a full-size pickup truck. Not only is it known for its versatility, but it also offers impressive towing capacities ranging from 8,000 to 13,300 pounds, depending on trim. The Silberado 1500 is equipped with various engine options that cover the needs of different user groups.

Compared to its competitors, such as the Ford F-150 or the Ram 1500, the Silverado can certainly keep up in terms of both payload and towing capacity. In particular, the maximum towing capacity of 13,300 pounds ensures that it is also suitable for demanding tasks. With a variety of trim levels, the Silverado offers something for everyone, making it a popular choice among American trucks.

The combination of animal-assisted pedagogy in daycare and the performance of vehicles like the Chevy Silverado 1500 illustrates how commitment and quality play an essential role in everyday life. Whether in the field of education or when buying a vehicle - it is always worth having a good hand and making sustainable decisions.

Evangelisch.de reports on the tensions in day-to-day daycare, while the Mayo Clinic the health risks of liver diseases are discussed and finally the impressive performance data of the Chevy Silverado 1500 illuminated.
