Crane Worlds in Günz: Unique nature experience starts on Saturday!
The wait is finally over! Next Saturday, September 6th, 2025, the long-awaited NABU experience center “Crane Worlds” will open its doors in Günz. After two years of intensive construction and an investment of around 5.3 million euros, visitors can take a look at the new exhibition rooms and the extensive outdoor area. Already today, on September 4th, invited guests have the chance to take a first look at the impressive center and explore the outdoor area during a preliminary tour.
The new facility offers a modern, interactive exhibition on a generous 500 square meters, which is sure to be a real magnet for nature lovers and families. Visitors can look forward to multimedia experiences, including computer-aided animations and exciting digital quizzes. A highlight will certainly be the crane film, which illustrates the fascinating migration routes of these majestic birds. The theme of the exhibition covers not only the migratory routes and habitats of the cranes, but also important protective measures that contribute to their conservation.
An outdoor natural paradise
However, the center is not just impressive with its interior: over 20,000 square meters, various living spaces are waiting to be explored. Walk-in insect and moor worlds allow visitors to delve deeply into the biodiversity of the region and discover ecological connections. The Western Pomeranian Lagoon Coast attracts numerous cranes every year, who stop here before continuing south.
The “Crane Worlds” not only serve as an information center, but are also intended to play an important role in animal protection. A dedicated team of ten researchers and around 30 volunteer rangers will work actively to preserve the cranes and their habitats. There will also be a bistro where visitors can relax after their explorations. A children's corner ensures that even the youngest animal lovers get their money's worth.
For locals and tourists
The experience center is aimed at both locals and tourists who want to experience the diversity of nature and, in particular, the protection of these majestic birds up close. With innovative exhibitions and even virtual reality experiences that provide a closer look at the cranes' habitat, the facility represents a real asset to the region.
Overall, the opening of the “Crane Worlds” offers a fantastic opportunity to connect with the world of cranes and at the same time learn something about the habitat and protective measures. The anticipation for Saturday couldn't be greater - a trip there is definitely worth it!
