Störtebeker Festival 2025: Buccaneering adventures are starting soon on Rügen!

The anticipation in Rügen is increasing immeasurably! On June 28, 2025 the time has finally come: the 31st season of the legendary Störtebeker Festival starts in Ralswiek. This year, visitors can look forward to the piece “Privateers of the Seas”, which focuses on the exciting transformation of Klaus von Alkun into the legendary privateer Klaus Störtebeker. Here the story of the most famous pirate is told in a new way, in the spirit of the seventh game cycle, which follows Störtebeker's life and adventures over several years.

The Störtebeker Festival is without a doubt the largest event on the island of Rügen and attracts over 300,000 spectators every year. Each performance on the unique natural stage can accommodate a maximum of 8,800 spectators. This impressive setting, with water and authentic cogs visible in the background, makes for an unforgettable experience.

A spectacle for the senses

The season runs from June 28 to September 13, 2025, with performances taking place Monday through Saturday. A true spectacle awaits the audience: over 160 small actors, stunt people, riders as well as 30 horses and even eagles take part in the performances. Visitors can also experience Klaus Störtebeker's latest adventures up close, which will be presented on stage this year. The Störtebeker website invites everyone to become part of this magnificent event.

Discoveries in Ralswiek

Ralswiek, the venue for the festival, has much more to offer in addition to the cultural highlight. The small town on the Baltic Sea looks dreamy and offers visitors the opportunity to explore historical Viking burial mounds. The remains of a rampart on the Schlossberg and the charming old cottages give the area a special charm. A small Swedish wooden church at the entrance to the town welcomes all guests, while at the harbor there are numerous sailing ships, yachts and steamers waiting to explore the water. If you love adventure on the water, you have the opportunity to rent boats and set out to sea yourself - a real experience!

So it will soon be said: On to the premiere! The live ticker Baltic Sea newspaper will provide insights into the event at the premiere and report on the entire season. Let's look forward to an unforgettable experience that combines the best of history, adventure and culture on Rügen into a spectacular whole!
