Technology fever in Pütnitz: Thousands celebrate the Eastern Bloc meeting!
What a great spectacle! Last weekend, the site in Pütnitz turned into a lively small town that was characterized by nostalgic vehicles and enthusiastic fans. The 24th International Eastern Block Vehicle Meeting of the Technology Association Pütnitz took place on July 5th and 6th and brought together numerous visitors from all over Europe. And the numbers speak for themselves: 7,300 visitors and 3,300 participants were counted on Saturday, including impressive 992 two -wheelers, 436 cars, 193 trucks, 61 tractors, 20 buses and even 4 boats. Ostsee Zeitung reports that an impressive airfield fire engine, the Tatra Feuerwehr 815, was found among the participating vehicles, which was presented by Sascha Mischke.
A must for auto enthusiasts
The event not only attracted locals, but also participants from Norway, Poland, Sweden, Denmark, Austria and Switzerland. The longest journey had a participant from Latvia with 1430 km. In 2025, the Technikverein Pütnitz invited to this unique event, which is all about preserving and enthusiasm for Eastern Bloc vehicles. From the first day of arrival on June 30, 2025, the site was open to the participants. The organizers around Michael Guhl, who has been passionate about it for over 20 years, expect more than 14,000 visitors for the entire weekend. The website of the association offers practical information and tickets.
A look at the vehicles
The exhibition offered a variety of lovingly restored and self -converted vehicles. Among other things, Pitt Riegel from Neuburg was represented with a converted guarantee K 30 from 1959, which he redesigned as a motorhome. There was also a small tank made of GDR parts, which he also built himself. The nostalgic classics, such as the red Wartburg convertible and the sky blue Trabant 500 (P 50 station wagon), attracted the eyes of the passers-by and invited to the indulgence. Christian Ullrich from Rostock exhibited his trabant, paired with a Düben egg trailer, and thus contributed to the colorful variety of vehicles.
Community and nostalgia
The atmosphere was characterized by sense of community and the joy of technology history. With so much passion for the vehicles and the opportunity to exchange ideas with like -minded people, it should be noted: not only technology is celebrated here, but also kept a piece of history alive. The Eastern Bloc meeting in Pütnitz is not only a meeting point for car fans, but also an important cultural contact point.
The admission prices remained stable compared to previous years, since the Technikverein Pütnitz e.V. takes over part of the ticket fees. This support shows how important the further development and maintenance of the institution on the Pütnitz peninsula is.
For everyone who could not be there, it is only to hope that the next edition of the Eastern Bloc meeting will attract numerous visitors and participants again. After all, there is nothing better than to share the fascination for classic cars and the associated stories and memories.
