Kosmos Chemnitz 2025: Culture, Education and Innovation at the Schlossteich!

From June 13th to 15th, 2025, the Kosmos Chemnitz event takes place, which for the first time runs over three days and is an important highlight in the Capital of Culture 2025. This major event, in which the Technical University of Chemnitz participates with several faculties and the Center for Teacher Education and Education Research, attracts tens of thousands of visitors. Under the motto "C the Unseen" hidden treasures and undiscovered places in the region are moved into the spotlight.

The festival site extends around the Chemnitz Schlossteich and offers numerous decentralized locations in the city. Over 150 initiatives, clubs and companies, including the TU Chemnitz, will present themselves. On the “mile of the initiatives”, a student counseling is also offered to bring potential students closer to information.

Various program of the TU Chemnitz

On the first day of the event, June 13th, the Konkordia Park opens its goals from 3:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. Here is the information stand "Let’s Tuc about IT!" with study consultants on site that educate about the range of courses. A special highlight is the appearance of Dr. Claudio Paganini, presented science in just three minutes at the Famelab. A skill game “Hot Wire” with prices and a memory game ensures entertainment that addresses internationality and diversity at the TU Chemnitz.

On June 14th, further program items will take place. The information level "TU Chemnitz - your studies, your cosmos" can be visited between 12:00 and 7:00 p.m. The European University Alliance Across and the Arbeiterkind.de initiative also present themselves here. In addition, visitors can expect a chill area with water ice cream and the TUC gorge bike.

Special lectures and interactive offers enrich the program in the course of the festival. Among other things, Nadja will give a lecture on "neurodiversity in programming" at 2:30 p.m. In addition, the "pavilion of fear" will enable interactive encounter and surveys to fear by students. From 1:30 p.m. there will be a panel discussion on the topic "I don't talk to you (not) - about Corona".

innovative technologies at the festival

An exciting element of the festival will be the presentation of telepresence robots (TPR), which act as mobile video conference systems that can be controlled via remote access. These robots enable telephone -working people to move autonomously and to interact with the people present. The telepresence robots are equipped with audio and video units, telecommunications components and sensors and find a wide range of possible uses, from teaching to healthcare to industry.

An example of the use of this technology is a case in which the MovyStar TPR company uses to enable analogous presence in the commissioning of a transport system. The rapid amortization of the investment in telepress robots is made possible by savings in travel times and travel expenses, which makes this technology particularly attractive for companies.

The extensive participation of cities and municipalities in the Zwickau district, which also contributes to the Capital of Culture 2025, is underlined by a variety of events, exhibitions and projects. The focus is on the rich industrial culture and the lively art scene in the region. Further information can be viewed on the official side of the Chemnitz 2025 Capital of Culture.
