Corona standstill in Anhalt-Bitterfeld: zero new infections!
The health situation regarding COVID-19 in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district has stabilized. Current figures show that no new infections were registered on July 1, 2025 compared to the previous day. The 7-day incidence is a reassuring value of 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants. A total of 73,129 positive tests have been recorded in the district since the beginning of the pandemic, reducing the number of people currently testing positive to zero.
The situation in the intensive care units in the district is also positive: There are currently no COVID-19 patients in intensive care treatment. Of the 31 available intensive care beds, 12 are unoccupied, which means a good capacity situation and shows that health care remains stable in this regard.
Corona situation in Saxony-Anhalt
A look at the numbers for all of Saxony-Anhalt shows that despite a slight increase of five new infections compared to the previous day, the 7-day incidence remains at 1.1 per 100,000 inhabitants. So far, a total of 996,961 COVID-19 cases have been registered in Saxony-Anhalt. Most infections occurred in the 35 to 59 age group, followed by 15 to 34 year olds. Across the state, the number of people who died from or with the virus has risen to 531.
The new Corona variant, known as Nimbus (NB.1.8.1), which was discovered in January 2025, is particularly interesting. According to the WHO, it is currently classified as a “variant under observation”, but there is no evidence of more severe disease progression, which means a certain level of relief for the population.
Vaccination status and perspectives
The vaccination rate in Germany shows a constant trend towards improvement. According to current information, 76.3% of the population has received a basic vaccination and 77.9% have already received at least one vaccination. These numbers are part of the effort to protect the population as best as possible. But many people in Saxony-Anhalt still have some catching up to do when it comes to booster vaccinations, with only 58.6% having received the booster vaccination.
The vaccination rate in the Anhalt-Bitterfeld district is not isolated.
