New board for Saxony-Anhalt's football association: FSA elects leader
On Saturday, September 14, 2025, the 10th annual association day of the Saxony-Anhalt Football Association (FSA) took place in Löbejün, at which a new management team was elected for the next four years. Delegates from various district and city associations as well as the men's and women's association leagues gathered in an exciting setting to make important decisions for the future of the association. FSA online reports from numerous prominent guests, including the President of the German Football Association (DFB), Bernd Neuendorf, and Hermann Winkler, President of the Northeast German Football Association (NOFV).
The importance of amateur football was emphasized by Neuendorf and Winkler, who both paid respect to the voluntary commitment of the many helpers and supporters. Hermann Winkler also emphasized the spirit of cohesion within the football family. In a celebratory ceremony, two volunteers were also awarded the FSA honorary ribbon: Helmut Hartmann from KFV Anhalt-Bitterfeld and Helmut Lamp from KFV Salzland.
Election of the new board
The association day also offered delegates the opportunity to vote on important points. Holger Stahlknecht gave an annual report, followed by a financial report from the Vice President of Finance, René Cunaeus. The delegates relieved the previous board of directors and decided on some changes to the statutes for the legislative period from 2021 to 2025. A central issue was the vote on the recourse procedures in connection with an embezzlement scandal that occupied the association from 2014 to 2020.
After an exciting election, the results are now clear: Holger Stahlknecht has been re-elected president, and he is supported by several new and familiar faces. Here are the elected board members:

Holger Stahlknecht took the opportunity to thank you for the trust you have placed in us. He emphasized that continuing the work to strengthen volunteerism and the further development of football in Saxony-Anhalt are at the top of the agenda. The members of the association will certainly be interested to see how the new board members perform in the coming years.

The Saxony-Anhalt Football Association, founded on August 19, 1990 and based in Magdeburg, is the umbrella organization for a large number of clubs and teams throughout the state. With over 91,000 members and 708 clubs, the FSA is an important player in German football. The number of members and the club structure enable a clear division into 12 district associations (KFV) and 2 city associations (SFV).
