Revolution on the A9: Hybrid project of wind and solar energy started!

in Saxony-Anhalt is big in the world of renewable energies: the VSB Group starts its first hybrid project in Germany. Under the promising name "Löberitz Wind & PV", a combination of wind and solar power along the A9 is realized. Continuous electricity generation is to be made possible, which is based on the daily and seasonal fluctuations of wind and sun. This was from solar branch reports that also announce the construction work for the new solar park: they start with the tidse work in Bitterfeld-Wolfen in August.

An important step for network stability will be the planning of the solar park, which brings with it an output of 19 MWP. The Stadtwerke Bitterfeld-Wolfen are taken into account here as a project partner and can look forward to an option of 5 MWP. Construction is planned for early 2026, and to ensure efficient use of land, a wind turbine with the solar park will share a parcel. In addition, the plans are available to start building work for a Repowering wind farm in November 2025, which the project will advance.

Repowering in the Elster wind farm

This hybrid project runs parallel to the Repowering wind park in Elster, which is also managed by the VSB Group. Here, an existing wind farm is replaced by 16 modern wind turbines that send 50 old systems offside. The result is impressive: the new system has fourfold performance with only one third of the previous number of turbines. Every wind farm producer dreams of such efficiency. The annual energy generation is given as about 235 gigawatt hours, which can cover the electricity consumption of around 67,000 three-person households, such as

The role of renewable energies in Germany

In an ever increasing energy industry, the energy mix in Germany also reaffirms the need for such projects. In 2022, Germany had an energy consumption of 11,829 Petajoules, which fell by 4.7 percent compared to the previous year. This is also evident in a sunken output of CO2 emissions that have been reduced by around 7 million tons. The trend is clearly towards renewable energies, which already delivered 47 percent of electricity in Germany in 2022. The proportion of renewable energies in gross electricity generation rose to an impressive 44.6 percent, such as Solar server With these projects in Saxony-Anhalt, the VSB Group and its partners set a clear sign of the future of renewable energies in Germany. The course is well set for a sustainable and efficient energy supply, which becomes more fair in the increasing demands and at the same time makes a contribution to reducing CO2 emissions. In this sense: on the power of nature!
