The 40 -meter racetrack was separated from each other by small fences to give the dogs their own space. There were a total of two racing classes: rabbit/dwarf dachshund and standard dackel.

The preliminaries took place the day before, on June 28th. Eight dogs competed here, with the first three of each class qualified for the semi -finals. The tension was tangible when the best dachshunds moved into the final. In order to give the winner a special pleasure, there was also an honorary prize: two nights for two people and a Dachshund in Regensburg, including entry to the Dachshund Museum with personal leadership. In addition, each participant received a certificate and a little surprise as recognition.
