The Globus Markthalle Theißen recently celebrated its 31st birthday in brilliant weather. A highlight of the festival was the generous support of the Zeitz Women's and Children's Protection Association (FuKs) through the proceeds from the sale of a fabulous birthday cake, which consisted of nine cake trays. Thanks to this campaign, the club was able to collect an impressive 350 euros for its holiday projects. Mario Pacholski, the first chairman of the FuK, accepted the symbolic check and expressed his delight at the support from Globus managing director Manuela Fränzel, who was also on site at the handover - a great sign of the community.
As part of the upcoming holidays, the funds collected will be used for varied activities for nine children from Zeitz, Weißenfels and Hohenmölsen. Starting next week, it will run daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., when performances by a talented rapper and a breakdancer from Leipzig will delight the children. Part of the money also goes towards paying the external project managers who will design exciting and educational program items.
Commitment to children and young people
The Zeitz Women's and Children's Protection Association was founded in 1992 and has since developed into an important contact point for children and young people in the region. The association is not only recognized as a provider of independent youth welfare, but is also actively involved in social work, including supporting the homeless and introducing needs-oriented school social work in local primary schools. What is particularly important to FuKs e.V. is the creation of networks and support structures that meet the needs of the community.
The promotion and support of children and young people is also recognized on a broader level. The importance of education and social participation is undisputed deutsches-ehrenamt.de shows.
