What's happening in Dessau-Roßlau? On November 8, 2025, a 22-year-old woman filed a fraud report at the local police station. While looking for tickets for a football game that happened to be the same day, she came across a lucrative online offer. She was offered three tickets by an unknown person for just 150 euros. The young woman agreed to receive the tickets via email and wanted to process the payment via online banking. But on the first attempt, the bank reported that the account details provided were not accepted, which did not stop the seller from sending an alternative IBAN and the name of the account holder.

Despite the warning signs, the woman made the transfer without ever getting her hands on any tickets. The seller did not respond to their inquiries, neither before the game nor after, and the request for the refund of the transferred money remained unanswered. A classic fraud case that shows how quickly you can fall into a rip-off - a phenomenon that can also be observed in other regions, such as on dict.cc noted.

Fraud in other variants

At the same time, a 31-year-old man also filed a report after ordering an electronic watch online on October 30, 2025. Paid with buyer protection, he expected the delivery, which only disappointed him with an empty package on November 4, 2025. Here the damage amounts to around 100 euros, and it remains uncertain whether he will see his money again.

The number of unreported cases of such fraud is likely to be high, especially in online purchases, where the anonymity of the Internet often leads to risky transactions. Some possible synonyms for fraud include “rip-off” and “set-up,” all of which convey a similar message: caution is advised.

Traffic accidents in the region

Another part of the police reports from the region concerns traffic accidents. On November 11, 2025, a 19-year-old VW driver was involved in a collision with a 60-year-old Seat driver in an accident in Kochstedt, which resulted in property damage of around 16,000 euros. Further accidents subsequently occurred, including an incident at 7:45 p.m. when a 37-year-old Audi driver hit a pillar while reversing out of a parking space. The damage here amounted to around 3,000 euros.

In addition, on the morning of the same day there was a collision between a 61-year-old VW driver and a 16-year-old e-scooter driver. The young woman sustained minor injuries and had to be taken to hospital for an examination, while the material damage caused is estimated at around 2,500 euros.
