The 2025 outdoor pool season in Dessau-Roßlau has officially begun, and the expectations of water lovers are high. On July 1st, the large slide in the Roßlau adventure pool, which was out of operation due to a defective water pump replacement, was repaired in a timely manner and put back into operation for the fun of the bathers. The adventure pool at Finkenherd is open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the summer holidays and offers a variety of water fun for little swimmers with six swimming lanes, a current pool and a separate non-swimmer pool. In the last few days the flow of visitors has reached pleasing heights.

In addition, the outdoor swimming pool on Rodelebener Heidestraße also opened its doors on July 1st. After a thorough check of the water quality, in collaboration with the health department, the outdoor pool received approval and can now welcome its visitors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. These safety checks are not only important, but also mandatory to ensure the well-being of bathers.

Diverse offerings in the adventure pool

The Roßlau adventure pool is without a doubt an experience for the whole family. In addition to the large slide, there is a baby pool with colorful animals splashing water and the popular sunbathing lawns that invite you to relax. The non-swimmer pool has an hourglass-like shape and is equipped with a bridge - ideal for little explorers. If you feel like strengthening yourself, you can treat yourself to freshly prepared snacks and drinks in the snack bar.

According to reports from the Federal Environment Agency, the overall quality of bathing water remains at a high level again this year. In the most recent studies, almost 91 percent of the bathing waters even scored “excellent”.

Protection of bathers

The importance of regular monitoring of water quality is also shown by the fact that a total of 2,291 German bathing waters were tested in the 2024 bathing season. However, some bodies of water were particularly threatened and had to be temporarily closed due to cyanobacteria or other water hygiene deficiencies. Last year, 148 bathing waters were completely or partially closed, which underlines a much more responsible use of natural resources.
