Tusem Essen loses dramatic: descent fixed, Hamm now in the 3rd league!

A memorable day for handball fans in Cologne, because the season is coming to an end and the decisions are made. Tusem Essen lost to the Dessau-Roßlauer HV with 24:30 in the repetition of the 2nd Handball Bundesliga. The team from Essen is therefore determined as a sporty relegation, which is difficult to digest for fans. As the sports show reports, the game was a result of Tusem's appeal against a previous defeat, which unfortunately did not bring the hoped -for turn. Dessau-Roßlau would also have had to go into the third class in a defeat, but was able to secure the whereabouts in the league through this victory.

The game took place in the home stadium of Tusem, and despite the deficit at the beginning of the game, when you were quickly 3: 8 behind, the team fought back on. From a break, they were able to shorten the gap to 6: 8 and Felix Göttler, the important player of Essener, also performed some well. But at halftime Dessau-Roßlau was already in the front with 18:14 and expanded the lead to six goals in the second half.

end of the season for Tusem

With the defeat, Tusem Essen ends the season in the disappointing 16th place, which means that participation in the DHB Cup is not possible. Now it is time to reorganize yourself in the third division in the coming season. The ASV Hamm-Westfalen, which is already a relegated team, will also have to build a new squad. After the defeat against ASV Hamm-Westfalen in the first leg with 23:36, the problems for both teams are obvious. It remains to be seen how the trainers and those responsible will now stand up for the future challenges.

In the second half of this exciting season, Hamm initially showed himself clearly superior in the derby against Essen. With a strong Felix Hertlein in the goal, the guest team set accents from the start and brought the spectators to cheer in the sold -out stadium. Despite an ascending form of Tusem, supported by Omar Asmussen and Max Neuhaus, Hamm was ultimately too strong to ward off the pressure. After a 14:17 deficit at half-time, Hamm expanded the lead to 31:26. After the game, Tusem's coach Michael Hegemann had to admit that the defense did not produce enough pressure.

The future of relegated

Both relegations are now facing a fresh start. ASV Hamm-Westfalen will take the bitterly learned as a lesson and try to return in the third division. Dessau-Roßlau, on the other hand, can look forward to the renewed qualification for the DHB Cup. Her trainer, Uwe Jungandreas, will look after the third division club EHV Aue in the coming season, which will make changes in the team structure again.

The coming season promises some movement and tension, both on and next to the square. The fans can be excited to see how the teams will be reoriented and which talents will draw attention to themselves in the next season.
