Mayor Augat invites you to a summer tour: Visit Düna!
After the summer break it starts again: The event series “Mayor on Summer Tour” starts on August 19, 2025 in Osterode. Mayor Jens Augat has chosen the town of Düna as the first stop and cordially invites citizens to an open exchange. Direct dialogue with residents is important to him because he believes the value of such discussions for urban development is particularly high. As osterode.de reports, current concerns can be discussed and important questions can be clarified during the inspection in Düna.
As part of the summer tour, Augat will be accompanied by the respective local mayors, which ensures a personal exchange. The first stage of the summer tour took place in June, where the mayor visited a total of four towns. These dialogue formats, which are also used in other cities such as Oberursel and Nuremberg, have proven to be extremely valuable.
Dates and topics
The upcoming dates of the summer tour in Osterode are promising. In addition to Düna, the towns of Marke will be visited on August 25th and Riefensbeek-Kamschlacken on August 27th. Further towns and the core city are planned for September, which will further increase the exchange opportunities.
As oberursel.de reports, Mayor Antje Runge is also conducting a summer tour in Oberursel. This takes place during the Hessian summer holidays and aims to talk to citizens about local political issues. At the six meetings in the core city and the districts, topics such as heavy rain events and safety will be addressed. With information already implemented from the previous year, the city shows that it is listening to the concerns of its citizens.
Mobile citizens' meetings in Nuremberg
The situation is similar in Nuremberg: a series of events take place here as part of the OB tours to give citizens first-hand information about urban development. These “mobile citizens’ assemblies” have been an integral part of the municipal dialogue since 2012, as [nuernberg.de describes](https://www.nuernberg.de/internet/buerger Beteiligung/ob_touren.html). Five dates are already planned for 2025, and citizens are invited to cycle the entire route or visit individual stations.
The exchange on the summer tours is not only an excellent opportunity to discuss concerns, but also to work together on a future worth living. The dates and meeting points for the events in Osterode are also published on the city website, so that everyone has the opportunity to become part of this dialogue. If you haven't registered yet, you don't need to register and the tours last around two hours.
