Ceremonial opening of the photo exhibition HarzNATUR 2025” in Osterode!
In a few weeks, a special photo exhibition will open at the Ritterhaus Museum in Osterode that will focus on the beauty of nature in the Harz National Park. The “HarzNATUR 2025” exhibition will be ceremoniously inaugurated on August 30, 2025 at 5 p.m., and everyone interested is cordially invited to attend. The Harz National Park, the Jungfer-Druckerei Herzberg and SilverLynx Media GmbH are organizing the event under the patronage of the Lower Saxony Environment Minister Christian Meyer, as [osterode.de](https://www.osterode.de/portal/meldeen/ Feierliche-eroeffnung-der-fotobörse-harznatur-2025–912007610-21351.html?rubrik=912000010) reported.
At the opening, not only a welcoming speech from the patron is expected, but also other speakers who will underline the importance of nature photography. A highlight of the evening is the presentation of the 2026 national park calendar, which will be carried out by Ole Anders, head of the lynx project. The winners of the photo competition will then be awarded in four categories and the overall winner will be determined. Guests are then invited to explore the exhibition on a shared tour, while the trombone quartet of the Academic Orchestra Association of Göttingen provides musical accompaniment.
A look into the future
The exhibition will be open to the public until April 26, 2026. The opening times are impressive: Tuesday to Friday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Entry costs 4 euros, reduced price 2 euros. This shouldn't put too much strain on your wallet, and attending such an event is an absolute must for many people.
Another exciting point is the annual photo competition, which takes place every two years. In the current round of “HarzNATUR 2025”, over 1,100 photos were submitted by 116 participants who captured the fascinating landscapes and animals of the national park. The best photographs will not only be awarded a prize, but will also be shown in the exhibition, which increases the anticipation of the event even further. The details of the competition can be found on the website fotokritik-harznatur.de.
Competition categories and awards
The photo competition categories are diverse and offer something for everyone:
- Tiere im Nationalpark
- Landschaftsaufnahmen
- Makro- und Nahaufnahmen
- Schönste Wege im Nationalpark
The winners in each category can look forward to an annual subscription to NaturFoto magazine. The overall winner also receives a voucher worth 500 euros for a photography shop - you can definitely speak of a good hand. The proceeds from the sale of the photo calendar “HarzNATUR 2026”, which contains the best images from the competition, will benefit the lynx project in the Harz and thus also support the preservation of this impressive animal species.
The collaboration between the partners in the Harz National Park and Jungfer Druckerei has been a success story since 2010, characterized by sustainability and environmental protection. The printing company focuses on avoiding emissions and increasing efficiency, which cannot be valued highly enough these days.
