Price increase on Harz narrow-gauge railways: What changes are waiting?

The Harz Narrow Gauge Railways (HSB) are facing major challenges: According to expert estimates, the company will be short of around 800 million euros over the next 20 years. The HSB is already impressing with its impressive route network of around 140 kilometers, which includes three main lines: the Brockenbahn from Wernigerode to the Brocken, the Harzquerbahn from Nordhausen in Thuringia to Wernigerode and the Selketalbahn between Quedlinburg and Harzgerode. Every year, over a million passengers use the historic steam trains that travel through the picturesque landscape of the Harz Mountains.

Ticket prices and discounts

New ticket prices will apply from March 1, 2025.
