Legendary Harz: Hike inspires despite steep challenges!

In the picturesque Harz, exactly where legends and stories are woven together to form a colorful carpet, Carsten Kiehne has compiled an impressive collection of fairy tales, anecdotes and stories over the last ten years. Together with his partner Manuela Petri, he has not only written more than thirty books, but also launched an extensive range of guided hikes and storytelling events. This reports News38.

More recently, Kiehne organized a special hike on Tuesday, March 4th, which led along the Paracelsus Harz Clinic in Bad Suderode. There was palpable excitement in the air when they met an older gentleman named Günther who was getting around in an electric wheelchair. Despite the three-hour tour with steep climbs, he really wanted to go on the hike. Kiehne was initially unsure whether Günther could overcome the challenge, but the group provided active help.

An unforgettable experience

The hikers helped Günther push up the steep mountainside, a physical challenge that was borne out by team spirit and willingness to help. Once at the top, Günther beamed with joy and found this experience to be a real highlight of his hospital stay. Kiehne himself made a positive comparison and described this tour as one of the most lasting memories of his more than 14 years of activity.

Kiehne and Petri's offerings are extensive and include not only legendary hikes, but also workshops on topics such as magical herbs and the healing power of trees. “SAGENHAFTER HARZ” and “REIKI IN THE HARZ” are the basis of their ventures. On their website they offer further information, as well as contact options and details about the events: reiki-im-harz.de.

The beauties of the Harz

If you want to experience even more, the Harz is the right place for you. With several thousand kilometers of signposted hiking trails and an impressive, varied landscape - from swampy moors and mist-shrouded cliffs to light-flooded plateaus and colorful mountain meadows. No wonder that the region is ideal for exploring. Popular hiking trails such as the Teufelsstieg and the Heinrich-Heine-Weg through the Ilsetal attract many nature lovers, while the Brocken, the highest peak in northern Germany, is a popular destination for hiking enthusiasts. The Resin info offers comprehensive information on tours above and below ground in the Upper Harz Water Management UNESCO World Heritage Site.

So you could say that the Harz is not only a treasure trove of stories, but also a real hotspot for hiking enthusiasts who are thrilled by the magical world of legends and picturesque nature. Kiehne and Petri impressively show how these elements can come together harmoniously.
