October is just around the corner and with it the colorful autumn holidays, which offer a lot of variety for families and children in Saxony-Anhalt. From October 13th to 25th, 2025, young and old can look forward to numerous exciting events in the region. People's voice has put together the best tips for us.
A particularly hot tip is the transformation of Pullman City in the Harz Mountains into a spooky “ghost town”. Here children can go out in costumes and collect candy during the popular “Trick or Treat” on October 25th. The Halloween show in the evening and the horror trail for ages 14 and up round off the experience. By the way, long queues are expected for the spooky trail, so visitors are encouraged to try out the other offerings in the city. Halloween Kids Club offerings are available daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including face painting and the Kids Monster Party. Pullman City offers something for every age group!
Scary events and creative highlights
But that's not all! In Merseburg, the city center is transformed into a magical realm full of witches, wizards and mythical creatures at the Magic Festival on October 25th and 26th. A mini-hustle and bustle and colorful dealer streets await visitors here.
For art and nature enthusiasts, there are creative craft activities in the Heineanum Halberstadt and exciting hands-on activities about the Bronze Age in the Halle State Museum. An interesting holiday program will take place here from October 14th to 17th and 21st to 24th. LUMAGICA in Magdeburg will also be a delight from October 1st to November 30th, where the Elbarenpark will be bathed in a radiant sea of lights with the motto “Around the World in 80 Days”. More Halloween highlights
Saxony-Anhalt also celebrates Halloween with all sorts of activities. The Harz Witch Run event in Rothesütte on October 31st not only invites sports enthusiasts, there is also a free Bambini obstacle run for the little ones. If you like things spooky, you shouldn't miss the ghost hunt in Blankenburg Castle, where a “green witch” has to be defeated.
Another highlight is the Halloween party at Magdeburg Zoo, which takes place on October 31st with pumpkin carving, face painting and the “Dreamland” puppet theater. In Salzwedel there is a children's disco in the leisure and event center, and in the Arendsee neighborhood there is an exciting horror rally for children.
