106,000 euros for digitalization project: Zeddenick becomes smart!
A breath of fresh air is blowing in the digital scene in Zeddenick. Minister for Infrastructure and Digital, Lydia Hüskens, recently presented a funding notice for 106,000 euros to the entrepreneur Dominik Tappe. This money will go towards an exciting project that aims to strengthen the region's digital competence. The aim of the funding is to support innovative ideas on digital sovereignty, data protection and the development of smart cities and regions. “There’s something going on,” you might say.
The planned project envisages the development of a platform that analyzes the digital skills of users. The aim is to offer tailor-made further training measures that will primarily benefit further training providers and public bodies. A smart step, because the digital landscape is changing rapidly and further training is the be-all and end-all for the future.
Funding for digital projects
Saxony-Anhalt has provided a whopping 2.5 million euros for digitalization projects in 2023 and 2024. Similar funding of the same amount was already available last year. And the commitment continues: The funding guidelines for 2025 and 2026 promise exciting topics such as “New Work: Co-Working Spaces” and “Digital Services of General Interest in Demographic Change”. The funding takes the form of non-repayable share financing of up to 90% - a maximum of 120,000 euros can be applied for, as mid.sachsen-anhalt.de reports.
The rush is great: There are currently 83 applications with a funding volume of almost 8.9 million euros. This shows that the demand for digital support is high in the region. Support is offered not only to companies, but also to public institutions that are striving for digitalization in Saxony-Anhalt. There are clear guidelines for submitting applications: Applications must be submitted to the Ministry of Infrastructure and Digital both electronically and by post.
Strategy “Saxony-Anhalt Digital 2030”
As part of the overarching strategy “Saxony-Anhalt Digital 2030”, the funding is used to achieve cross-sectional goals in various projects that benefit many people. This strategy forms the basis for numerous specialist strategies and digital policy goals of the state government. The aim is to particularly target small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) that need support with their digital (re)orientation, as can be found on zukunftszentrum-sachsen-anhalt.de.
There, interested parties will find an overview of funding programs provided by the federal government and the EU for digital change. The funding compass lists central institutions that support digital change in Saxony-Anhalt. The commitment to digitalization in the region shows that everyone is pulling together to make the future livable and digital.
