200 years of the Jerichow Rifle Guild: A celebration full of surprises!
The Jerichow Rifle Guild is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: its 200th anniversary. And the guild invites everyone interested to a colorful festival onSaturday, July 5th, takes place at the Jerichower Bürgerhaus at Karl-Liebknecht-Straße 55.
The event begins at 1:30 p.m. with the arrival of the guests, followed by the ceremonial proclamation of the Jerichower Schützenkönig for the year 2025 at 2 p.m. Greetings will be given, among others, by Holger Walner, chairman of the shooting guild, and Ralf Braunschweig, the local mayor. District shooting champion Marion Meyer will also speak. In addition to the celebration, this speech also emphasizes the importance of training and integrating young people into the shooting clubs, which is of great importance to the guild Mainpost reported.
A diverse program for the whole family
From 2.30 p.m. a varied program awaits guests in and around the community center. The Genthin wind orchestra will create an atmosphere with a concert in the square, while the Jerichow youth club will have face painting and a craft street. The fire department has also come up with something new and is organizing a fun competition. Laser rifles from the shooting guild are available for shooting enthusiasts.
The sale of the raffle tickets, which will offer great prizes, begins at 3 p.m. - the award ceremony takes place at 3:30 p.m. Afterwards there will be a performance by the sports club's Volti Kids at 4 p.m., which will delight the little ones. The evening program then starts at 7.30 p.m. with a dance event at which Jens Bense encourages the guests to dance, while the line dance women perform a dance performance.
A feast for all senses
Particular highlights will be the fireworks over Jerichow at 10.30 p.m., which will bring the festival day to a spectacular close. The catering is also well catered for: in the afternoon, all visitors can help themselves to the coffee and cake stand, while the Heinemann Inn offers grilled dishes. Homemade ice cream from the Eiscafé Köppe rounds off the culinary offerings.
Anke Hannemann, the press officer of the shooting guild, wishes all guests an entertaining and happy afternoon and evening. With this event, the Jerichow Rifle Guild proves that tradition and community can be kept alive even in the 21st century, which can be seen in the great anticipation and participation of the local community.
