Things will get exciting in the tranquil town of Genthin on October 10, 2025: The Genthin Library Days are just around the corner and will bring with them a particularly fine literary treasure. The focus of the event is the presentation of the anthology “Pelicans on the Storchenhof”, which was written by twelve talented authors from Pelikan e. V. comes from. The texts offer interesting insights into personal and social life and shed light on the rich history of the region between the Elbe and the A2, which dates back to Emperor Otto I.

The authors Dorothea Iser and Bernd Domsgen will lead the reading and take the audience on a literary journey through the Jerichower Land. There are stories about everyday moments and historical traces that bring the charming character of the region to life. “This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know our region better through literature,” says Iser. Visitors can look forward to a peaceful and green environment that carries with it an eventful past, as well as very current topics that are still very popular.

The event will take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the “Edlef Köppen” city and district library at Dattelner Straße 1. Admission is free and voluntary donations are requested to support the cultural work of Pelikan e. V. to support. “I hope many people interested in literature and citizens in the region can get excited about this reading,” adds Domsgen.
