Magical film music conquers the Burg town hall – an unforgettable evening!
An extraordinary concert took place in the Burg town hall on September 13th, where the sounds of well-known film music thrilled the audience. Organized by the talented Ivana Sieberling, several choirs and soloists contributed to an emotional experience that touched the minds of those in attendance. The Gerwisch mixed choir, the children's choir from the Pestalozzi elementary school and the Burg vocal ensemble were well represented with the support of instrumentalists and Czech artists.
Mayor Philipp Stark warmly welcomed the guests and Heiner Jäckel took over the moderation, who led through the varied program, which included both soulful and powerful pieces of music. The audience, consisting of parents, grandparents and sponsors, responded to the talented artists' performances with loud applause and joy.
An unforgettable evening
With a running time of around 90 minutes, the concert offered a successful mix of different musical styles. There was no need to worry about the tickets being sold in advance because all the seats were completely sold out. The great atmosphere in the hall ensured that everyone present enjoyed the evening to the fullest and the positive response for the committed team around Ivana Sieberling, Jana Lukášová as well as the soloists and instrumentalists was overwhelming.
Exciting projects are already planned for the next few years: Next year the choir will take part in the international choir festival in Magdeburg, followed by further performances on September 19, 2026 in the Johanniskirche Magdeburg and on September 20, 2026 in the Möckern town hall. Here viewers can once again experience the choirs' outstanding performances.
Promoting choral music
The choirs' strong performance could also benefit from the establishment of the Amateur Music Fund, which was launched by the German Bundestag at the end of 2022. This fund aims to support choirs, orchestras and bands in mainstream culture, which is important for the sustainable promotion of amateur music. The first and second rounds of funding, which run until fall 2025, will offer opportunities to test new forms of artistic expression and realize outstanding projects.
Those eligible to apply are non-profit amateur music ensembles, which also include the participating choirs. This could increase the opportunities for innovative projects in the region and further strengthen the visibility of this valuable cultural work.
At the end of the evening, everyone involved was thanked for their great effort - the success of the concert is not only a sign of the passion of the artists, but also of the community's high level of commitment to music. A nice end to an evening that will be remembered.
