New fire brigade house in Burg: groundbreaking for the future!
In the small town of Burg in Jerichower Land, the symbolic groundbreaking ceremony for a new fire station was celebrated on June 26, 2025. This measure not only benefits from the local fire brigade, but also represents an important investment in public security. The fire brigade in Burg has the most operations in the district, whereby the proximity to Autobahn 2 does not apply insignificantly. It is a long -awaited relief for the firefighters, after all, the current tool shed in downtown dilapidated, much too small and with considerable defects.
The new fire brigade house is built on the B1 and includes an area of 5,500 square meters. There will be ten parking spaces, modern technical infrastructure and flexibly usable social, training and seminar rooms. The permanent space for the youth fire brigade is also particularly important, which ensures the training of the young fire brigade. Mayor Philipp Stark emphasized that this new building is coming to an intensive planning and approval phase and the city is investing around 9.35 million euros, while the state of Saxony-Anhalt supports funding with 1.75 million euros. Radio SAW reports that a modern infrastructure also enables jointly used training for technical assistance and fire fighting.
The current state is worrying
The old tool shed, which is located on the Brüderstrasse, has massive building damage. According to the fire brigade accident fund, there are serious security risks that arise from the use of the basement. The basement ceiling must be secured with 501 supports, and the fire engines are only allowed to drive in and out individually and at step speed. In addition, the situation in the city center makes the operations through traffic and incorrectly parked cars considerably more difficult. This is a clear indication that renovation is urgently necessary to ensure the safety of the emergency services and the effectiveness of the fire brigade. The principles of occupational health and health protection are also pointed out, which are of particular importance in fire station. Safe fire brigade emphasizes that special risk must be taken into account when planning fire brigade houses.
The planning phase has provided many challenges for those responsible, but the new fire station is intended to create a modern and safe working environment that responds to the special needs of the fire brigade. The cooperation between the municipal administration, the specialists for occupational safety and the architects is essential. The standards of DIN 14092, which regulate the planning of fire station, are also conscientiously observed in this new building. Day of Architecture provides valuable information that is important for the successful implementation of the construction project.
The completion of the new fire station is planned for in two years. If everything goes according to plan, the fire brigade Burg will finally be able to carry out its important service in the community under optimal conditions. With this initiative, the city and the country show that they actively work for the protection and safety of the citizens.
