Mixed Magdeburg performance
Coach Markus Fiedler had lined up his team with five new players compared to the last appearance - a daring move that turned out to be less than successful. While Bielefeld made a change with a stable line-up and two minutes after the first half, FCM, who have only had one win so far this season, fell far short of expectations. The team is currently ranked 15th in the table.

Loud Kicker FCM's performance was solid until the 70th minute, but the switch quickly turned when Bielefeld made it clear that they were closer to the third goal than Magdeburg to the first.
The next challenges lie ahead
The coming weekend will be crucial for the Magdeburgers, because on Sunday they host FC Schalke 04. This encounter is very explosive, as the FCM urgently needs to score points after their fourth defeat of the season in order not to slip further in the table. Bielefeld, on the other hand, can go into the next game against SpVgg Greuther Fürth with a lot of tailwind after their win and temporarily jump to second place in the table.
While Bielefeld continues to make progress, the FCM could use a turnaround. The lack of penetration on offense will be a topic in training in the coming days. It remains exciting to see whether Magdeburg can turn things around on Sunday and whether the spectators in the MDCC Arena will get a different view of their team.
