A special event inspired the twinning between Magdeburg and Le Havre. A travel-filled discovery tour to the French port city took place from October 22nd to 26th, 2025. Organized by the Association Le Havre-Magdebourg and the German-French Society Magdeburg e. V., individuals and families were accommodated in host families and experienced the cultural facets of Le Havre up close.
A varied program was put together under the roof of the Georg Philipp Telemann Conservatory, which included, among other things, a joint baroque concert in Le Petit Théâtre. Mayor Simone Borris was on site on Thursday and Friday to talk to representatives of commercial companies and cultural institutions about future initiatives. The exchange about urban development, mobility and infrastructure was the focus of their discussions.
A warm welcome and important conversations
Another highlight was the reception given by Mayor Édouard Philippe in Le Havre City Hall. Borris warmly thanked the participants of the citizens' trip and praised their interest in the exchange between the cities.
