The dispute over the approval of the Christmas market in Magdeburg continues to cause tense discussions. Mayor Frommhagen said in a statement that the organizers had “tricked” to receive approval. He even mentioned the possibility of a “face-saving withdrawal of the permit” by the responsible authorities, which left more than just an uneasy feeling among the organizers. MDR reports.

The debate was taken up by Borris, one of the main contributors. He assures that the authorities are working on the situation and are particularly examining the fire safety aspects. However, Borris criticized the administration as inefficient and warned that something had to be done quickly. To give the whole thing a twist, Ronni Krug sent an email to the public order office and the fire department in which he asked for an examination of the security concept and fire protection. He clearly calls for the market to be banned or subject to stricter conditions if necessary.

The challenges that Magdeburg is currently facing show how important good planning and, above all, clear communication between those responsible are. While Munich is ready to open the season with numerous offers, Magdeburg is standing still and struggling for security and permits.
