Today, September 24, 2025, the Corona situation in Germany and especially in Saxony-Anhalt brings with it some new developments. While the number of new infections in the Mansfeld-Südharz region has increased to two new cases, the overall incidences remain at a fairly stable level. This is reported by News.de, which states that there have been a total of five new cases in the last seven days and the 7-day incidence is 3.8 per 100,000 inhabitants. In Saxony-Anhalt, however, the incidence is 4.6, which corresponds to a slight decrease compared to the previous week.

The latest figures from Saxony-Anhalt show that 101 new cases were recorded last week. In the latest reporting we also learn that there was one new death, bringing the total to 6,849. Most infections affect the 35 to 59 age group; a total of 391,517 cases were registered in this group. Overall overview of the number of infections in Germany

The overall situation across Germany is also worrying. According to the RKI, Germany recorded a total of 378 new infections today and the 7-day incidence is 3.4 per 100,000 inhabitants. Also shocking are the total of 187,889 deaths, which corresponds to a mortality rate of 0.48%. • Neuinfektionen in Deutschland: 378
  • Todesfälle gesamt: 187.889
  • Gesamte COVID-19-Fälle: 39.080.453

Another aspect that should not be ignored is the vaccination statistics in Germany. As of April 2023, 76.3% of the population has basic immunization and 77.9% have received at least one vaccination. The vaccination of these doses makes it clear that the BioNTech/Pfizer vaccine is at the top with over 46 million doses. The Robert Koch Institute also has its VacMap created a helpful tool that clearly presents the vaccination situation in Germany.

What does all this mean for future development? Experts attest that the incidence values in Saxony-Anhalt are currently below 100 and the hospitalization rate of 0.64 is relatively stable compared to the previous week. Despite these positive trends, the actual incidence value may be higher than reported, particularly affecting the groups of 60 years and older, which account for 79% of corona patients.

In conclusion, despite the positive trends, it is time to remain vigilant in order to avoid possible setbacks in the fight against the pandemic. Most protective measures in Saxony-Anhalt have expired since March 1, 2023, which means that citizens themselves must bear responsibility.
