Eisleber Wiese 2025: Volksfest highlight starts today with a mega program!
The Wiesenmarkt in Eisleben is in full swing today, September 19, 2025. For the third time in a row, Central Germany's largest folk festival invites visitors to experience five days full of spectacle, music and rides. Until September 22nd, the streets around the Eisleber Wiese will become a festival mile that invites you to celebrate and enjoy. The MZ reports on exciting festivities that will begin with an opening parade at 2 p.m.
The Eisleber Wiese has been celebrated since 1521 and over the centuries has developed into the largest folk festival in Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony and Thuringia. With historical splendor, starting with the privilege that Emperor Charles V bestowed on the Mansfeld Counts, this festival has blossomed from a cattle and oxen market into a true folk festival spectacle. This year, the organizers are expecting more than 300 showmen and operators to take care of the around 48 rides and numerous culinary offerings. The MDR highlights that there will even be seven new attractions.
Diverse program for young and old
The musical program is a highlight of the event. On the first day, the band Atemlos entertains the guests from 3:15 p.m., followed by DJ Dirk, who ensures an exuberant atmosphere. On Saturday the Kliebigtal brass musicians and the live band Four Rock will perform. Sunday begins with a meadow service and ends with an 80s-themed party, which also includes a Depeche Mode tribute band. The organizers have planned a seniors' breakfast for Monday and a fireworks display at 10 p.m. The cultural asset folk festival archive offers interesting insights into the traditions and developments of folk festival culture.
The election of the new meadow shooting king or queen will be particularly exciting on Saturday, a tradition that has been established over 25 years. The meadow bird shooting is another highlight that is traditionally integrated into the event.
