Travel accident on A2: 26 injured and multi -million dollar damage!

A serious accident occurred on the A2 motorway this morning between Burg-Ost and Theeßen when a coach with Ukrainian license plates on a truck at around 6.30 a.m. According to mdr , all 26 occupants of the bus, including two children, were only slightly injured. However, four people had to be brought into surrounding hospitals for investigation.

The rear -end collision occurred in the traffic jam before a full closure that had been in force since Saturday due to an earlier accident with a truck that transported dangerous cooking oil. The bus driver apparently recognized the end of the traffic jam too late and collided with the rear of a truck, which was pushed to another truck. The bus could not continue due to the damage and had to be towed. The travelers were safely brought to the Rastpark Theeßen and cared for there. The Burg fire brigade, which was alerted at 6:45 a.m., also took action with several team cars and supported the emergency services in the transport of the occupants, such as Meetingpoint Brandenburg reported.

high property damage and traffic disruptions

The property damage caused amounts to an estimated 150,000 euros. The accident site had to be cleared, while the road users were hindered by the persistent cleaning work due to a previous accident. Despite the cancellation of the full closure, the flow of traffic remains viscous due to the extreme disabilities.

In Germany, the number of traffic accidents increases steadily. The Statistics of the Federal Statistical Office shows that traffic safety increasingly focuses on political measures. In 2025, the improvement of the transport infrastructure, especially on heavily used motorways, remains one of the central topics in public discussion.

The circumstances of this accident once again remind us of the importance of attention in road traffic. Each individual is required to behave safely and responsibly in order to avoid such - fortunately lightly - incidents.
