Freital cheers: top game drama! Grimma lost to Bischofswerda 2:3

In the NOFV-Oberliga Süd, the 8th matchday provided some exciting football moments. Today, on October 4th, 2025, the fans in Freital were exposed to an exciting top game against VFC Plauen, which SC Freital ultimately won. In an intense duel, Philip Weidauer scored the decisive goal in the 78th minute for a 1-0 victory in front of 338 spectators, who created a rousing atmosphere. This game once again underlined the importance of points in the fight for the top spots.

But it wasn't just in Freital that fighting took place on the pitch. The clash between Grimma and Bischofswerda also caused a lot of excitement. Bischofswerda won the emotional game with a final score of 3-2 and thus defended its ambitions in the promotion race. The team is now in a good position in the table, while Grimma has to be careful not to lose touch after the defeat.

Further positive news came from RSV Eintracht 1949, who can look upwards with a clear win against Lok Stendal. Muratcan Mert Yatkiner (44th minute), Matthias Steinborn (70th minute) and Fabian Seeger (78th minute) contributed their goals to the clear 3-0 lead, while Lok Stendal remains stuck in the bottom of the table with just four points.

The draw between Auerbach and newly promoted Glauchau was also significant. While Glauchau took the lead through Jonas Mack (25th minute), the Auerbach players were able to equalize and secure further important points thanks to Cedric Graf (68th minute).

Cards and penalties determine what happens

A completely different picture emerged in the game between VfB 1921 Krieschow and Budissa Bautzen, where there was plenty of red and yellow on the pitch. Luca Grimm was shown a red card in the 6th minute, followed by Tobias Gerstmann, who also saw a yellow-red card in the 70th minute. To make matters worse, Bastian Dreßler was also sent off with a yellow-red card in the 90th minute. In this heated duel, Felix Hennig Bautzen took the lead in the 26th minute, followed by Adam Rohlik, who made the final score 2-0 in the 78th minute.

The next highlight is just around the corner: Halberstadt and Wernigerode meet in the Harz derby. Halberstadt sits level on points with Freital in second place and goes into the game as favorites, but Wernigerode proved with a 2-1 win against Halle that surprises are always possible.
