Snow chaos threatens: thunderstorms and freezing temperatures in Bavaria!
The weather in Bavaria is currently showing its harsh side: a major change in the weather is in full swing and the snow line is visibly falling. How Mercury Reportedly, the snowfall line will drop to 1,800 meters, which could result in fresh snow in both the high mountains and other regions by Wednesday morning. The Zugspitze in particular could suffer from heavy snowfall on Tuesday night.
The German Weather Service (DWD) has also issued warnings for a strong storm with gusts of up to 70 km/h and heavy rain of up to 20 liters per hour. This leads to the lowest level weather warnings in some regions, but these are still particularly relevant for certain districts such as Altötting and Mühldorf am Inn.
Heavy snowfall and warnings

These warnings are divided into advance warnings and acute warnings and take into account the changing intensities and directions of snowfall. If the situation escalates, acute warnings are possible until shortly before the event.
What is particularly worrying is the fact that the weather warnings are divided into three levels: While level 1 indicates general weather warnings, at more dangerous levels they can lead to extreme storms. So far, however, the unpleasant thunderstorms and snow are the main players.
What's next?
The weather forecast suggests that the next few days could be anything but boring: from Wednesday the weather could brighten until temperatures reach values of up to 26 degrees on Thursday. However, some risk of showers remains. For the next ten days, the forecast shows not only sunshine, but also a return to rain and more thunderstorms to round out the day.
