A tragic traffic accident occurred on Saturday evening in the Schwalm-Eder district near Borken. At around 8:10 p.m. there was a serious collision between a car and a motorcycle at the intersection of highways 3150 and 3223. Unfortunately, the 33-year-old motorcyclist from Homberg died at the scene of the accident. The 31-year-old driver of the VW Bora, who comes from Borken, was only slightly injured and taken to hospital. The material damage to the two vehicles amounts to around 1,000 euros each. Following the accident, the scene was completely closed until around 10:30 p.m. to carry out the rescue and investigation. The Homberg police station has taken over the investigation of the incident and an expert was called in to clarify the exact course of events, as Tixio reports.
The exact cause of the accident is still unclear, but the impact between the motorcycle the victim was driving and the car was so violent that the motorcyclist suffered serious injuries. He was on his Suzuki on the L3223 towards Bad Zwesten, while the VW driver was on the L3150 towards Borken.
