Something is happening in Saxony-Anhalt! The Saxony-Anhalt Football Association (FSA) recently invited club representatives to an exciting call. Anyone interested can apply for membership in various committees until October 5th. These bodies are crucial to the further development of football in the region, the site reports fsa-online.de.
The FSA is looking for committed members for the following committees: the Finance Committee, which takes care of the financial matters of the association; the youth committee, which wants to promote children and youth football; and very importantly, the Women and Girls Committee, which focuses on the concerns of female athletes. Participation in the referee committee or the committee for leisure and popular sports could also represent an exciting challenge for many.
Diverse opportunities for volunteers
The committees play a central role in advising the FSA Board and preparing decisions. This requires a good network and a lot of creativity, especially when it comes to developing new game formats in women's and girls' football. In line with the goals of the German Football Association (DFB), a sustainable strategy to promote women in voluntary positions is to be developed by 2028, as envisaged by the “Strategy Women in Football FF27” initiative. A central aspect of this initiative is the “DFB Assist” project. Regional associations support the development of tailor-made strategies to promote women and girls in football. This is done through a comprehensive inventory and holding numerous meetings, both digitally and on site. This ensures that the members can offer the best conditions for implementation, as was already determined in January 2024 by an FSA project group founded specifically for this purpose.

So if you have a knack for financial matters or a passion for youth football, this could be your chance to get involved. Applications are possible until October 5th. A letter of motivation and information about previous activities in football are essential.
