Big fundraising campaign in the district: Help the war cemeteries!

In the Osterholz and Hagen districts, a house and street collection by the German War Graves Commission is taking place until December 31st. This important campaign is actively supported by the Bundeswehr Logistics School in Garlstedt and by local representatives who are working together to ensure the well-being of the victims and their surviving relatives. All donations collected benefit the Volksbund's work, which is dedicated to the care and preservation of war cemetery sites.

A special collection date is approaching: On November 15th, comprehensive collection campaigns will be carried out in various locations. In Osterholz-Scharmbeck, for example, the Famila market with district councilor Heike Schumacher and the market purchase with Mayor Torsten Rohde will be active. Local politicians are also involved in Ritterhude, Lilienthal, Worpswede, Grasberg and Schwanewede to spearhead the fundraising and motivate the population to help.

Collection campaigns in detail

On November 13th, the joint municipality of Hambergen will take part in the Edeka Sackmann market from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., led by the joint municipality mayor Gerd Brauns and frigate captain Marcel Rosenbohm. A special highlight in the Cuxhaven district will be the “Celebrity Collection” on the same day from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the weekly market in Hagen. District Administrator Thorsten Krüger, Mayor Andreas Wittenberg and Katja Bruns-Cordes, the district manager, are there, supported by students from the Hermann Allmers School and representatives from the logistics school.

Anyone interested in becoming a collector is welcome to contact Katja Bruns-Cordes by phone at 04721/66 20 05 or by email at kreisverband-volksbund@landkreis-cuxhaven.de. The Volksbund hopes for numerous donations and new collectors in order to continue to support the work of remembrance and the care of the war cemetery sites in our region.

A look beyond the borders

While collection campaigns are in full swing in Germany, many travelers are drawn to the impressive landscapes of Glacier National Park in the USA. The park is known for its breathtaking views and numerous scenic spots that captivate visitors. Highlights include Lake McDonald, Virginia Falls, and Hidden Lake Overlook, all of which offer beautiful hikes and photogenic backdrops. Overall, the national park attracts nature enthusiasts with 993 hiking trails and numerous overnight accommodations.

The crescent-shaped Going-to-the-Sun Road connects the park's eastern and western entrances and offers spectacular views of glaciers and wildlife - a must-see for any nature lover seeking unique photography opportunities. Even though these worlds are geographically far apart, both the collection campaigns in the Osterholz and Hagen districts and the natural wonders in Glacier National Park have one thing in common: they are testaments to human memory and the everlasting beauty that must be preserved.

In today's growing digital world, it seems that advancements in many areas of technology could offer amazing possibilities, such as switching email accounts in different apps. A user query in the forum shows that it can sometimes be confusing for users who want to switch from a corporate to a personal account in the Cursor app. Offers to simplify switching, similar to MS Teams or Slack, could help here to improve user experience.
