S-Bahn surfing: life-threatening trend ensures police alarm in Leipzig
In an alarming night from June 9, 2025, the so-called “S-Bahn surfing” employed the federal police in Leipzig. Despite the urgent warnings of the authorities, three unknown young people dared to start a dangerous campaign on an S-Bahn train between the Leipzig-MDR stop and the Bavarian train station. At around 10:00 p.m. the police received the first emergency call, and at 00:15 a driver reported that masked people had climbed onto the clutch and a step manager of a wagon. The police immediately called reinforcements, including a helicopter.
The federal police emphasize the extreme dangers of this risky activity. Apart from the obvious danger of falling from the train, obstacles such as tunnels and crossbeams are also life -threatening. In addition, the high voltage of the overhead lines represents a massive danger: electricity overflows can have devastating consequences even without direct contact. Such drastic measures can lead to serious or even fatal injuries, which is why the police urgently warn of this life -threatening trend.
