In the past few days there has been a worrying wave of shock calls in the Bautzen and Görlitz districts, which are greatly unsettling residents. On June 26, 2025, Hoyerswerda was the main scene of these fraud attempts, where unknown perpetrators tried to pose as relatives and extort large amounts of money. On June 27th alone, ten such calls were successfully blocked in this context.
