While Saxony's third to fifth graders enjoy their days off from school, they can take part in an exciting holiday program at the zoo school with their parents or grandparents. Every Wednesday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., families have the opportunity to develop animal activities together and implement them directly in the enclosures. For just 39 euros per family, children and adults can have a great time under the guidance of zoo educators.

The special attraction on July 16th will be the white-tailed porcupine. Silke Kühn, the head of the zoo school, will provide the participants with exciting information about the habitats and diet of this interesting animal species. Visitors can also observe how the porcupines like to play with objects, such as a coconut. The animals are taken to the indoor stables by the zookeepers during the activities, ensuring a safe and educational experience for all participants. After the “work” is done, the families can admire the animals with their new toys on a visitor path.
