Kachlock: From kick to coach – Pulsnitz' football hero in transition!

A real jack-of-all-trades is causing a stir in Pulsnitz: Sebastian Kachlock, 44-year-old family man and passionate footballer, is moving to the second row after an impressive coaching career in the first team of TSV Pulsnitz. Kachlock, who started playing football in preschool age, is not only a dedicated coach, but also juggles family, building a house and training to become a master carpenter. His secret? Support from his wife Susanne and his parents, who support him while he gives his full commitment to his club. Sächsische reported that ...

Kachlock's active football career came to an abrupt end when he tore his cruciate ligament during his carpentry apprenticeship. This serious injury is not only a common problem in amateur football, it often requires months of downtime. Such injuries usually result from rapid changes of direction or uncontrolled landings, two activities that are commonplace in football. The DFB Academy declares that...

Cruciate ligament injuries: dangers and prevention

Kachlock himself was inspired by his long-time coach Reinhard Halm and moved to the coaching bench after his career ended. He noted that preventing injuries such as ACL tears can not only improve performance but also ensure player safety. In his training sessions, he placed great emphasis on targeted athletic training and movement exercises that minimize the risk of injury, especially when changing direction. Sportsense emphasizes that...

The risk factors for cruciate ligament injuries are varied. While genetic and anatomical characteristics play a role, many injuries can be reduced through effective stress management and preventative training measures. Recovery, sleep and nutrition are also crucial to minimize the risk of injury. Kachlock is aware of this and has integrated methods for monitoring stress and regeneration phases into his units in order to provide his players with the best possible care.

A new path for Kachlock

After his time as head coach, Kachlock will now take on the role of assistant coach, while Steffen Pilz takes responsibility for the first team. “It was an exciting time and I look forward to continuing to support the team,” said Kachlock. Veteran Patrick Nitsche will stay with the team for another year, while Lucas Wolnik will move to Aufbau Deutschbaselitz. Football is firmly anchored in the Kachlock family: his sons Jonas, Felix and Paul also play football, while daughter Jette loves dancing and three-year-old Kalle tries it out extensively.

The promotion to the Westlausitz regional league despite being relegated twice in the past shows the perseverance and dedication of Kachlock and his team. For Kachlock, his time in football was not only a challenge, but also a lot of fun and a big dose of family strength. Because at the end of the day, it's not just the sporting success that counts, but also the cohesion we have with one another.
