New logistics giant conquers Hoyerswerda: 20,000 square meters for Slam Germany!
Exciting things are happening in the logistics sector in the heart of Hoyerswerda: Slam Deutschland is renting almost 20,000 square meters in the Nardt industrial area, in one of the former Aldi logistics centers. As the Saxon reported, an area of around 5,480 square meters of hall space and 4,360 square meters of storage space is used for logistics and the transport of goods for an international online mail order company.
The logistics park in Hoyerswerda, which was built for Aldi in 1995, accommodates a total of around 22,000 square meters and consists of four hall sections. Two halls are currently rented, and Slam Germany's new premises fit seamlessly into the plans of the company, which is active in logistics throughout Europe. Together with around 9,500 square meters of outdoor space, this represents an ideal constellation for logistical activities.
Growth in the logistics sector
The logistics service provider Slam International Group, with branches in Great Britain, Poland and Germany, is relying on the enormous potential of the Hoyerswerda location. Jürgen Seidler, the head of Slam Germany, emphasizes the excellent conditions of the location for logistics activities. This is also reflected in the dynamic development of the entire logistics sector. The logistics market in Germany is estimated to have a remarkable 331 billion euros in sales in 2023, an increase of 19% compared to 2019, according to Statista.
Slam Germany will not only use its halls as storage, but also for business and transport. Alexander Jensen, Senior Letting Manager of the LIVOS Group, emphasizes the long-term cooperation and a promising future for the Hoyerswerda logistics location.
A look at the logistics landscape
The infrastructure for logistics and transport is very important in Germany. Transport has the largest market share at around 47% and around 4.6 billion tonnes of goods were transported in 2022. Bach from the region, especially the most dynamic logistics regions, such as the Ruhr area and the Halle/Leipzig area, benefit greatly from this development.
With the port of Duisburg, the largest inland port in Europe, and the second largest inland port in Cologne, which also has significant throughput figures, logistics in Germany remains a mainstay of the national economy. These aspects show that Slam Deutschland's new rental agreement in the Hoyerswerda Logistics Park is not only a benefit for the company, but will also make an important contribution to strengthening the regional economy.
