Sportlerweg 15, 09127 Chemnitz, Deutschland - On June 27th at 5 p.m. there is a lot going on in Chemnitz, because then the foundation stone for a new functional building of the SSV Textima Chemnitz e. V. instead. None other than Mayor Sven Schulze will give the interested public an insight into the plans together with Jens Köhler, the chairman of the association. All media representatives are cordially invited to be part of this important event. The event takes place at Sportlerstraße 15 in the Erfenschlag district.

What can visit visitors? The planned building is built in two floors and not only offers four changing rooms, but also sanitary facilities as well as separate rooms for referees and trainers. Toilets are also available for the guests. The first runners could change in the new premises in mid -2026, because then the building should be completed. The city of Chemnitz and the Free State of Saxony are financially generous and bring a total of around 1.56 million euros into the project.

Total financing is made up of several components: Around 716,000 euros come directly from the city of Chemnitz as sports funding, while the Free State of Saxony assures its support with 685,000 euros in funding. This is not the first support that the SSV Textima receives. As early as October 2022, a funding of EUR 32,446.60 was approved for the construction of a new floodlight system. A total of around 590,000 euros was provided for three Chemnitz sports clubs, as Media Service Saxony reported.

The background to this financial support is clear: the focus is on strengthening the sporting infrastructure in Chemnitz. This can also be seen in the various projects of the clubs concerned, such as the renovation and cultivation of the club building at VTB Chemnitz or the renovation of the artificial turf pitch at VfB Chemnitz.
