Marburg, Deutschland - The Philipps University Marburg has presented a new appearance today, which is implemented in a gradual process in various media. University President Prof. Dr. Thomas Nauss emphasizes that this new corporate design not only recognizes the tradition of the university, but also the need to strengthen the position of the institution in a future -oriented manner. This happens about two years before the university's 500th anniversary.
The last draft of the corporate design, which was defined around 20 years ago, no longer met the requirements for digital and global communication standards. Vice President Prof. Dr. Evelyn Korn explains that the new design is based on the university seal from 1916, which was re -drawn and simplified. The logo is designed as a word-image brand and offers clarity in communication, especially for digital media.

The university has decided to reduce the official name "Philipps University Marburg" in the logo to "University of Marburg" in order to facilitate international use. The English variant "Marburg University" is also introduced. The new design principles are designed in such a way that they promote accessibility. The design system uses the circular form of the seal, which stands for continuity and connection and thus supports accessibility.
The currently selected guide color is blue, but in a lighter color, complemented by further barrier -free colors. This is in accordance with the requirements for barrier-free communication specified in the UN Convention on the Rights of Disabilities, which include text display and tactile communication. An application manual for the new corporate design is provided to support the implementation and to explain the design guidelines.

The new corporate design of the city of Marburg, which was decided by the magistrate in December 2023 and was presented at the New Year's reception in January 2024, is also marked by improved digital communication.
