Triumph and excitement: Degenkolb wins the Cross Bundesliga in Chemnitz!

On November 2, 2025, the ninth round of the Cross-Bundesliga took place in Chemnitz, an international event that will go down in history as the last C2 race in Germany for the 2025 season. Chemnitz was already known as the venue for the German Cross Country Championships and offered a 3.2 kilometer circuit that captivated both athletes and spectators. However, the traditional event in Bensheim, which was missing from the Bundesliga calendar this year, failed to dampen enthusiasm for the cross cycling season.

Exciting race results

The women in particular showed their skills when Katerina Douderovà from the Czech Republic won the race with a 20 second lead over her compatriot Anna Panusová. Judith Krahl, who starts for the Rose Racing Circle team, fought for third place, even though she had previously only finished 13th in the C2 race in Jicin. For the men, Hannes Degenkolb from Heizomat – Cube was the shining winner of the elite race. He beat Matyas Fiala from the Czech Republic in the sprint and celebrated his first victory in a UCI race. Lars Sommer from Switzerland secured third place, while Eike Behrens and Luca Harter from Stevens Racing Team took fifth and sixth place.

Edda Bieberle from RSV Osterweddingen also showed a convincing performance and won the junior category with a lead of 26 seconds. In the overall standings of the CX-Bundesliga, Stephanie Paul continues to lead in the women's category and Luca Harter in the men's category. The next exciting race will take place on November 8th in Vaihingen, and we are excited to see which athletes will prevail there.

Fascination and theories surrounding the crucifixion of Jesus

In addition, another topic is causing a stir in the current discussion about historical truths: the crucifixion of Jesus. Jeffrey P. Arroyo García has published an insightful article in the Spring 2025 issue of Biblical Archeology Review that challenges existing theories. The idea that Jesus was nailed to the cross with nails is often conveyed, but the Gospels do not specify how exactly this happened. García examines contemporary written sources from the Jewish and Greco-Roman worlds that provide vague references to crucifixion practices.

An interesting discovery is a pierced heel bone found in 1968, dated to the period between the first century BC and the First Jewish Revolt. The ossuary found on it was named “Yehohanan ben hagaqol,” which may indicate a “knees apart” method of crucifixion. García concludes that nailing as a method of crucifixion may not have become widespread in Judea until after the time of Jesus.

For today's kitchen: mixer with the best functions

Nowadays, the latest kitchen appliances are also interesting for amateur cooks. The Philips Walita mixer, for example, is a real all-rounder with functions such as processing, batting, mixing and cutting. Thanks to its advanced Promix technology, it allows for better shredding and less splashes when working. With various accessories such as a whisk and cream whisk as well as a mini processor, the mixer is ideal for preparing a variety of dishes.

With an output of 400 watts and a turbo function, the mixer is particularly powerful and is even suitable for use directly in hot pots. The clever design, which includes a removable metal and plastic base, guarantees easy cleaning and storage. You can find more details and information about the different models on the Philips website.

This combination of motorsport, historical discussions and modern kitchen appliances shows how diverse and exciting the topics we encounter in everyday life are. Whether watching sports or cooking at home, there is always something new to discover!
