Dynamo Dresden awards Paul Lehmann: Chance for match practice in Verl!
At Dynamo Dresden there is news from the player carousel. The 20-year-old Paul Lehmann is loaned out to SC Verl in order to gain valuable match practice in the 3rd league. How Picture reports, this decision is a direct result of his last season, in which he was only able to play one minute due to back problems.
“The loan to SC Verl is an important step for Paul,” emphasizes Dynamo sports director Thomas Brendel. “He will have the opportunity to gain first-class experience there and offer himself to our second division squad.” Lehmann, who was born in Dresden and came through the Dynamo youth teams, has already signed a professional contract with the SGD in 2022. Since then he has appeared in six professional games, but injuries have slowed him down.
Successful loan from the previous year and change of perspective
The loan to SC Verl is not the first for the talented defender. In the first half of 2024 he played on loan at Rot-Weiß Erfurt, where he was able to demonstrate his qualities. Brendel is confident that Lehmann will have a similarly positive experience at Verl, a club known for its support of young talent. “SC Verl offers the perfect platform for further development,” adds the sports director.
In the meantime, the Dynamo Dresden squad is also on the move. Marlon Faß from TSG Hoffenheim, another young player, is also in focus. His move and a possible loan are intended to ensure that the talent can get used to men's football. Brendel is convinced that the mix of new players enriches the club.
Looking into the future
Dynamo's sporting ambitions remain unbroken. With the return of players like Lehmann to the team, the club plans to consolidate its position in the 2nd Bundesliga. It remains to be seen how the new additions will affect the team's dynamics. Looking ahead to the coming season, those responsible are optimistic that they will continue to bring a breath of fresh air into the events surrounding the SGD.
Lehmann's development is currently being closely monitored. Many fans hope to be impressed by his skills on the pitch again soon - because the Dresden player has potential that should be further developed in Erfurt and now in Verl.
