An important topic for the future

A special topic has been developed for 2025:“The Nuremberg Laws 1935 and their consequences”. These laws were passed on September 15, 1935 and institutionalized the Nazis' anti-Semitic ideology. They led to a serious restriction of the rights of Jewish citizens, who, among other things, lost their political offices and were banned from working. Changes in the school system and in private life were also the consequences of this discriminatory legislation.

The event aims to illustrate the profound consequences of the Nuremberg Laws through biographies of Jewish citizens in Dresden. Not only individuals will take part, but also youth groups from communities and school classes who are actively involved in the act of remembrance.

The Invitation to participate thus becomes an appeal to deal with the past and to set an example for tolerance and diversity.

Especially at a time when anti-Semitism is increasingly coming into focus again, remembering the dark chapters of our history is even more important. The organizers hope that participants will understand the meaning of the “Path of Remembrance” not only as a historical reckoning, but also as a call to vigilance and action in the present.
