New machine business on Demianiplatz: sweet and thirst quencher soon available!

In Görlitz something is happening: On Demianiplatz, new advertising posters move into a previously vacant shop. These are placed between the consumer advice center and a former cannabis shop. The posters show a figure that is strongly reminiscent of the comic hero Thor and announce a new business that is to be opened "soon". According to the Saxon newspaper, a “machine business” will move in at this location, where customers will be able to buy their favorite products at self-service machines in the future. The hype around self -service grows, and Görlitz makes no exception.

Energy drinks, sweets and other snacks are expected to be offered in the machine business. However, it remains unclear whether the exact product range is already certain - the landlord was asked for a statement. This type of self -service offer has already gained a foothold in other cities. An example can be found in Reichenbach, where a bakery successfully operates a machine for bread and Bautz’ner mustard. Klaus Dussa, the owner of a local towing company, is also planning a similar concept. He would like to renovate a village shop in Friedersdorf that is supposed to accommodate machines for dairy products, meat, sausage and rolls.

growing trend of self -service

The increasing popularity of self -service in retail is influenced by various factors such as demographic, cultural and technological changes. Countries such as France, Germany and Finland are increasingly investing in solutions such as self -service coffers and mobile apps. Market growth for self-service solutions is an average of 8.2 % and will be estimated at a value of $ 4.7 billion by 2027. These developments arise from the desire for more efficient shopping experiences and less personnel -intensive companies.

The Covid 19 pandemic has increased this trend: customers are increasingly looking for contactless ordering and payment solutions. Self-service solutions not only offer faster transactions, but also an optimization of check-in and check-out processes in hotels and in the transport sector. In France, for example, 1,400 train stations are equipped with self -service ticket machines. These solutions improve the communication between dealers and customers as well as the overall customer experience. Around 65 % of consumers prefer self -service coffers to the classic service.

Görlitz in self -service fever

The new machine business on Demianiplatz in Görlitz could fit perfectly into this growing trend. It remains exciting which specific products will be on offer and how well the concept will start. Interest in self -service offers seems to be great in the region, and Görlitz could establish itself as a pioneer here. At a time when retailers have to become more and more creative to win customers, such innovative approaches are definitely a step in the right direction. We keep you up to date!
