Summer film nights and classic sounds in Upper Lusatia!
August will be a festival of music and film in Upper Lusatia. After the summer holidays, numerous events start that offer both classical sounds and film highlights. In Schwarzkollm, for example, the series of film nights ends next weekend with cult films such as “Dirty Dancing” on August 16th and “Krabat” on August 17th. A real highlight for all film fans!
In addition, Tag24's summer cinema tour starts in Hoyerswerda from August 15th to 18th. Children's films at 4 p.m. and evening films are on the program here, including "Rocketman" on August 16th and "Mission Impossible" on August 17th. The open-air cinema on the Weinau in Zittau will show the comedy “Bridget Jones – Crazy About Him” on August 14th, followed by further performances on August 15th and 19th.

But that's not all! The “Coming and Going” festival takes place from August 15th to 24th and offers a colorful range of events. A particularly noteworthy event is the musical reading with Hans Narva in Königshain Castle on August 15th. Another highlight is the concert by the Ensemble Polyharmonique and the Batzdorfer Hofkapelle in the Zittau Kreuzkirche.
The Upper Lusatian Chamber Music Festival also begins on August 15th and runs until August 22nd. There will be daily concerts, starting with the opening concert by the Dresden Kapellsolisten in the Baruth Church. Music lovers can look forward to the voice of Alexander Hrustevich in the Baroque Königshain Palace and the Grundmann Quartet presenting Schubert's “Winterreise” in Bad Muskau Palace.
Complex musical experiences
The Moritzburg Festival Orchestra with Mira Wang will perform in Ebersbach-Neugersdorf. There will also be a variety of concerts in the following days, including in Baruth, Gröditz, Königshain and Bad Muskau. A particularly exciting program will be implemented with the solo concert “Klang & Traum” by Ronja Sophie Putz at Zittau University on August 21st.
Music lovers also have the opportunity to experience Vivaldi's famous “Four Seasons” in Rammenau Castle Park. In Görlitz there will be a special evening to mark the anniversary of the Reformation in the St. Nicholas Church on August 15th, which will include a reading and a wine tasting.
The events in Upper Lusatia are the perfect opportunity to enjoy the regional culture to the fullest.
