Turkish aircraft mechanics start practical adventures in Rothenburg!

At the Rothenburg airfield, a lot is happening: The technical know-how of the prospective aircraft mechanics from Turkey inspires the region. Ayse Zuhal Yeni, a student at Ostim Technical University in Ankara, completes a three -month internship on site. Your goal: a career as an engineer in space travel. It is particularly exciting that it is working on the development of an LED position light for aircraft to finally leave the old-fashioned light bulbs behind. This project takes place in the workshop of Zeydan ÖNCÜ, the owner of Global Aviation Services Interior (Gasi). ÖNCÜ has specialized in converting used aircraft and helicopter, including even converted flying fire brigades.

But not only Ayse is drawn to Rothenburg. Your colleague Koray Atalay also uses the opportunity for a six -month internship. In addition, six talented students of the "Sultanbeyli Sabiha Gökçen Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School" from Istanbul are on site to gain practical experience in aircraft mechanics. These students took first place in the national science and technology research competition and thus impressively show what they are made of. The exchange of these talented young people is funded by the EU program Erasmus+, which will cover the travel and residence costs.

the Erasmus+exchange

Erasmus+ offers an excellent opportunity for trainees and vocational students in Europe to expand their professional skills and to prepare optimally for the international labor market. Only educational institutions and organizations can apply for funding, while interested parties cannot apply directly for a scholarship, as can be read on erasmusplus.de.

The group from Turkey found their accommodation in a cozy guest house in Rothenburg and uses bicycles to reach the airfield. Zeydan ÖNCÜ plans to continue the pilot project with the high school in order to cover the growing need for well -trained experts in the aviation industry. With over 20 years of experience in the "VIP Cabin Retrofit" area, he has successfully converted several MI-17 helicopters. The exchange is not only an opportunity for the students, but also for the region to benefit from fresh knowledge and new ideas.

Overall, it can be seen that cooperation can do a lot at European level. Exchange is a win-win situation for both the prospective mechanics and on site. If you want to learn more about the ERASMUS+ programs, you will find comprehensive information on participation and financial support offers on the website.
