Leipzig's new design: uniformity and diversity for all citizens!

On November 5, 2025 the time has come: Leipzig will present its new corporate design, which includes a fresh brand architecture for city companies. The initiative is announced by Mayor Burkhard Jung, who emphasizes that it is primarily about the visibility of the public service. The aim of the new design is to create a uniform brand identity that makes the city's offerings clearly recognizable.

A key point of the new image is that strong own brands such as the Gewandhaus and the Zoo continue to maintain their own identity, but are still under the city's umbrella. This is intended to help citizens better take advantage of the various city offerings.

New design elements for Leipzig

The new design includes several fresh design elements: This includes a new logo, a new color palette and a new font. The website leipzig.de will also have a revised navigation structure. A key feature is the new logo, which aims to increase the city's recognition. However, the city coat of arms remains as an official national emblem.

The redesign relies on a variety of 12 colors that not only represent the diversity of the city, but also offer flexibility in digital communication. The city also attaches great importance to its own font that enables barrier-free communication and thus promotes inclusive offerings.

Gradual conversion and sustainability

The changeover to the new appearance will be carried out gradually and economically in order to avoid additional costs and to take sustainability aspects into account in the design. Digital presences such as websites and social media channels have already been almost completely converted to the new design, while previously produced media such as flyers and brochures remain in the old layout and only use the new design for new releases.

Through these strategic steps, the city of Leipzig not only wants to modernize its offerings, but also ensure that its citizens can enjoy city services clearly and attractively. A good hand in implementing these measures could help the city present itself as a modern and welcoming center.
