On Friday, June 27, 2025, the Scheibenholz racecourse in Leipzig will be the venue for an exciting after-race event. At 5:30 p.m. the starting signal is given for an evening full of adrenaline and good vibes. This event is part of the second racing day of the 2025 season and not only offers exciting races, but also a social gathering afterwards.
A total of six exciting races will be held in which 43 horses compete for prize money of 45,000 euros. The anticipation is great, especially since the race day was moved from Thursday evening to Friday evening in order to attract even more spectators after work. DJ Holgaaar from the Schlittenbar will also ensure that the party atmosphere lasts into the night and visitors have the opportunity to relax after a long day at work.
Races and jockeys
With a wide-ranging program, both horse and horse connoisseurs are excited about this evening. The event includes three age weight races and three handicaps. A special highlight is the amateur race over 2000 meters with the horse Pyrus, which is trained by Sascha Smrczek and is considered the favorite. The Hachtseer Bastion, trained by Maxim Pecheur, is also making her season debut; Last year she achieved third place in the Herzog von Ratibor race at Group III level.
A total of twelve jockeys from Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt have registered for the sporting competitions. There are six jockeys from Dresden and two from Halle, while two participants from Möser near Magdeburg are also taking part. Interestingly, two starters come from the local Angermann racing team.
Tradition and future
The horse racing track in Leipzig has a long tradition and is an important part of the local event calendar. The traditional date on May 1st has already aroused great interest from spectators this year and suggests that the party racing day will also be a complete success. The event is presented by SachsenEnergie and allows visitors to combine the excitement of racing with a joyful after-race celebration.
