RB Leipzig plans mega-transfers: EUR 92 million!

Leipzig, Deutschland - rb Leipzig has worked hard this summer and has already brought six new players into the team. Sports managing director Marcel Schäfer handled four transfers within just 26 hours. In particular, Yan Diomande's obligations for 20 million euros and Johan Bakayoko for 18 million euros have attracted attention. Andrija Maksimovic, who was signed for 14 million euros, and Kosta Nedeljkovic, who joins RB on a loan base, also strengthen the team. In addition, the Max Finkgräfe association for 4 million euros and Ezechiel Banzuzi for 16 million euros. Arthur Vermeeren will switch from a loan player to a firm obligation by a purchase option of 20 million euros. Overall, transfer expenses amount to a whopping 92 million euros, while the income has so far been 7.5 million euros. By selling Yussuf Poulsen, these add up to the HSV for 1.5 million euros and Ilaix Moriba, who switched to Celta Vigo for 6 million euros.

However,

this year is not represented by RB at the club World Cup and will also be missing in international competition, which results in a loss of income of at least 60 million euros. This decision to strike vigorously during the transfer period can certainly be regarded as a calculated risk. The goal seems to be clear: the desired players should be ensured, while at the same time separating from large earners such as Timo Werner and André Silva to reduce salaries.

The new transfer strategy

The transfer strategy has changed significantly compared to past years. RB Leipzig not only wants to rely on the current season, but also on future sales. Players like Benjamin Sesko, Xavi Simons and Lois Openda could strive for a change in the near future. Xavi Simons in particular is very popular - a transfer to Chelsea could bring it to the English Premier League for at least 70 million euros. Benjamin Sesko and Lois Openda could also be changed for 70 and 40 million euros.

These developments are no coincidence. According to reports, RB Leipzig has taken a total of around 243 million euros from player transfers in recent years, including well -known sales such as Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City for 90 million euros and Dominik Szoboszlai to FC Liverpool for 70 million euros. This is not an isolated case in a global context: According to FIFA, the professional clubs worldwide spent records for player transfers worldwide last season. 8.87 billion euros were invested in international transfers, which corresponds to growth of 48.1 percent compared to the previous year. The German clubs, especially the Bundesliga, struck vigorously as a seller and achieved income of 1.11 billion euros - a clear sign of the health of German football.

It can be assumed that RB Leipzig is well positioned with this offensive transfer policy in order to continue to draw attention to itself in the Bundesliga and to set the course for a successful future. However, it remains to be seen how the financial circumstances will have an impact without international games. One thing is certain: the club shows great ambition and strategic skill in a market that develops rapidly and is constantly changing.
